Breaking Free specializes in addressing veterans' needs, understanding that PTSD doesn't go away within a prescribed time-frame and that war-time service and experience changes a person forever. We use Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Equine Assisted Learning by facilitating experiences between people and horses, This provide an effective means by which people can break free of those conditions which prevent them from reaching their potential in life, such as disappointment and disillusionment, discouragement, anger, misconception, and fear or anxiety.

clients to other services when this is in the best interest of clients.
Our mental health services are delivered by creating interactive experiences between clients and horses. Most Breaking Free activities are on the ground. A team consisting of a mental health specialist and a horse specialist design sessions with horses that draw upon the herd behavior of horses and their natural inquisitiveness and responsiveness to human emotions. The client sets the pace and the goals for a therapeutic course. Clients who want to learn horsemanship can do so as part of a continuing therapeutic process.
